Meet Taj-Zsa Hower

I am Taj-Zsa Hower, a Licensed Clinical Social Worker and founder of Minding My Own Therapy. I help individuals and couples navigate life’s transitions, anxiety, and relationship challenges with clarity and confidence. My goal is to provide a warm, mindful space where you feel supported and empowered to grow.

My approach is grounded and collaborative, integrating evidence-based tools like CBT, EMDR, and Gottman Method Couples Therapy. Together, we will work to understand your patterns, strengthen your communication, and build practical skills for lasting change. I believe therapy is a partnership where we honor your unique story while working toward a more fulfilling future.

Adulting Therapy

Adulting comes with real emotional and psychological shifts — career decisions, relationships, finances, independence, and new responsibilities. Adulthood doesn’t mean having it all figured out. Adulting Therapy offers a supportive space to process challenges, develop practical tools, and grow in confidence as you navigate this stage of life. You don’t have to do it alone.

Anxiety & Depression

Anxiety and Depression Counseling offers a supportive space to explore the roots of your emotional distress, strengthen coping skills, and develop practical tools that help you restore balance, build resilience, and move forward with renewed hope.

Couples Counseling

Couples Support Counseling offers a supportive space to improve communication, reduce conflict, and better understand one another. Together, we work on strengthening connection, rebuilding trust, and creating a relationship that feels more secure, respectful, and aligned.

Perinatal & Postpartum Support

Pregnancy and early motherhood can bring both joy and overwhelm. Perinatal and Postpartum Support provides a safe, nonjudgmental space to process emotional changes, identity shifts, and feelings of isolation, while helping you find steadiness and reconnect with yourself.

Intersectional & Identity 
Counseling

Intersectional & Identity Counseling creates a safe, affirming space to explore how your race, culture, and lived experiences impact your well-being. We gently unpack identity, intergenerational trauma, racism, and minority stress while honoring the strength and resilience within your story.

My Training

I tailor treatment to each client’s unique needs and goals, drawing from evidence-based approaches including Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), EMDR, and Gottman Couples Therapy. These approaches allow us to build practical skills, process past experiences, and strengthen relationships in ways that support meaningful, lasting change.

How do I schedule an appointment?

To schedule an appointment, simply email letting me know if you would like to use insurance or private pay, share your availability, whether you prefer in-person or virtual sessions, and if you'd like to schedule a free 15-minute consultation. I’ll respond with current openings and next steps. 

During our sessions, you can expect a supportive, nonjudgmental space where you feel heard and understood. We’ll explore what’s bringing you in, clarify your goals, and work collaboratively toward meaningful change. We will work on blending practical tools with deeper insight so you leave sessions feeling grounded, supported, and empowered.
